Why did the electric fans in the 1980s last for a long time, but the current ones can't be used for a few years?

The fan motors in the 1980s were wound with copper core enameled wire, the iron core was made of silicon steel sheet, and the bearings were of high quality. However, the current electric fan motors are wound with enameled aluminum core wires, and the iron core is no longer silicon steel sheet, so the bearing quality is low, and it is easy to break down after a few months or one or two years, or even be scrapped directly. Of course, this is only for electric fans that cost tens of dollars, or non-branded ones. If there is a need for home use, it is recommended to choose a higher-quality electric fan.

Ball bearings are rolling and have less resistance, while oil-impregnated bushings are friction and have greater resistance.
